Klassieke Gitaar Leeft

Klassiek Gitaar Leeft, or Classical Guitar Alive, puts the focus on one of the most popular instruments, the guitar. A wonderful instrument with a superb solist in the lead: Raphaella Smits, without a doubt one of the best guitarists of our country.

For this concert on October 29, 2011 at 8:30 pm in the Sint-Margaretha church at the Lippensplein, Raphaella invites her highly valued colleagues of the Ensor String Quartet, Eric Robberecht, Francis Reusens, Frans Vos and Steven Caeyers, as well as the famous clarinetist Christel Borghlevens.

Raphaella and her friends present a program where all registers are pulled: Bach, Boccherini, Brouwer, Rodrigo,….
The highlight of the evening will be certainly the performance of the wellknown Concierto de Aranjuez, transcribed for guitar, string quartet and clarinet. An absolute cracker at Klassiek Leeft 2011.
