International Instrumental Competition MARKNEUKIRCHEN 2009, Germany.
The International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen was held from
the 7th through the 16th of May 2009 in a world famous centre
of the making of musical instruments.
The International Instrumental Competition is held in a change of string
instruments and wind instruments every year and it is to support new recruits
of musicians.
The competition of 2009 is for CELLO and GUITAR.
The competition has a high artistic level and it is estimated as an important
event among experts. Taking first places means for the participant to
get an international reputation and it can be seen as an international
quality mark. The good reputation and its high attraction is shown by
the raising number of participants.
The first price for Guitar 2009 went to the Finn Otto Tolonen.
The first price for Cello 2009 went to the Pole Tomasz Daroch.

Musical instruments have been built in high quality in Markneukirchen
for 350 years. The competition started with the modest beginning of a
violin contest from 1950 to 1965. The competition has developed to a performance
of international meaning and in 1993 it was admitted to the "WORLD FEDERATION
OF INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITIONS".
