POZNAN, Polen.

Within the framework of the European Erasmusprojects, the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music academy of Poznan invited Raphaella Smits to give a series of master classes from April 23 to 25, 2009.
It is one of the eight music-academies of Polen. It actually has 700 students and a staff of 240 people.

Poznan is one of the oldest cities of Poland. In the 9th century the Slavic tribe of the Polanen build a fortress on the island Ostrów Tumski in the Warta. The first Polish cathedral was build in Poznan in the 10th century. The city florished in the 16th century.

Today Poznan is an important business and trade center with about 540.000 citizens.
