Semana de la guitarra clasica
Talavera, Spain
May 27-31, 2008
From May 27 to 31, 2008 will run the first Semana
de la Guitarra Clasica en Talavera de la Reina in Spain.
A fabulous program is presented with artists such as David Russell (UK),
Jorge Cardoso (AR) and Raphaella Smits (BE).
Talavera de la Reina lies in the middle of Spain. It is the second-largest
nucleus of population in Castile-La Mancha and the largest in the province
of Toledo with 90,000 residents.
Talavera has a rich history and is famous for its ceramics or 'azulejos'.
The city is divided in two by the river Tagus. The area is very fertile
with Mediterranean forests, elms, olive trees and corks. The local delicacies
such as mancheco cheese and serrano ham are well-known worldwide.
