Raphaella Smits will give a recital for the unfortunate residents of the closed asylum center 127 bis in Steenokkerzeel, near Brussels, on March 28, 2008.


End 1986 the first shelter for refugees was opened in the Klein Kasteeltje in Brussels. This was the beginning of organized reception of asylum seekers in België.


The Center 127bis in Steenokkerzeel is well-known. Here, FEDASIL opened in June 2005 a refugee center for unaccompanied foreign minors.


The Steenokkerzeel center has three main assignments: collect information about the minor, observe to get to know the child better and finaly to find him or her a good solution (in accordance with the age from foster parents up to accompanied independent living).
