AN
EXCEPTIONAL CONCERT
Raphaella and the best ambassadors of the Argentine folk music.
Jorge Cardoso (Posadas, Misiones, Argentinië, 1949) is a
guitarist, composer and musicologist. He has almost 400 compositions to
his name, and besides composing for one or more guitars, he has also written
music for other instruments, quartets, quintets and concertos. Cardoso
has made countless arrangements of folkloric music from various periods
and regions.
Juan Falú (Tucoman, Salta, Argentina, 1948), is
a composer, a teacher and an artist. He is considered a cornerstone of
Argentinean folk music and obtained the prestigious National Music Award
in 2000. His music for guitar recreates the freshness and inventiveness
of Argentinean folk rhythms. In reference to his improvisational skills,
he has received praise from many musicians that call him "a real
time composer".
The Sint-Antoniuskerk
is situated in the centre of Edegem, right at the at the crossing of the
Drie Eikenstraat and the Strijdersstraat.
The Sint-Antoniuskerk is a Ghotic church from the 16th and 17th century
and listed as a historic monument since 1947. It has been praised for
its great acoustics and its attractive onterior. No wonder it is a regular
venue for cultural events.
