TRIBUTE CONCERTS
DIRK VAN ESBROECK

On May 23, 2007 Dirk Van Esbroeck passed away after a long illness and a courageous fight.
He was a great artist and an exceptional human being, an example to many.
His friends-musicians wanted to honour Dirk on stage with this benefit tour. The entire profit is for a good cause.

Encouraged by producer Pieter Andriessenin 2003, Dirk Van Esbroeck, José Toral and Raphaella Smits combined their talents and their three very different guitars. This mix of Raphaella's sensitive classical sound, the passionate flamenco pulse of José and the epic latino voice, guitar and bombo of Dirk, made an unforgettable impression at the audiences.

Until 2006 they brought the succesful program La Guitarra with compositions by De Falla, Garcia Lorca, Abel Fleury, Maria Luisa Anido and many others. The songs and the poems, through the artists and the instruments, recounted the stories of people and emotions ...

Raphaella will participate to hte tribute concerts in Borgerhout and in Geel.



The Tribute concerts will give an overview of the many programs artistically influenced by Dirk Van Esbroeck.
